One of the hardest things for me to do is to share where I might need help. I think this stems from the belief that I was hired to do a job and if I cannot complete something it might reflect poorly on me. But what I have realized is that sometimes there are problems that can only be solved with the help of others. Leaning on others is important because they might be strong in an area that weakens you. Having a conversation with your team leader is often times a discussion about how we can be stronger together.
I have an employee who seems to be disconnected between what she thinks she can do well and what she actually does well. What she lists as her strengths actually presents as one of her weaknesses. How do I manage a conversation around that?
